I wasn't familiar with release... but then again it did sound as if may have heard it on SoundCloud at some point idk. Regardless I was happy to pick this up for about $5 during a recent clearance sale on the Urban Outfitters website! Not sure if it's still available, along with some other great deals, but it doesn't hurt to check. I just happened to catch an email promoting the sale so I would recommend subscribing to their send list if you have not already.
No issues with shipping as it arrived heavily protected as usual (UO are probably THE best at protecting vinyl and all other items IMO). The condition of the clear protective sleeve and the picture disk itself were both immaculate. Although they did unfortunately place a sticker on the track info sticker that caused damage when trying to peel off.
Onto the item itself... again, not that familiar with the artist or release but was really digging this cover of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by Frankie Valli with it's 'cool summer breeze' deep house stylings and sweet as candy vocals by Emilee. The remixes on side b didn't really hold up well against the main cover version IMO.
I had no issues with the slipcover as it had no splits and seemed to be of sturdy material. The picture disc looked and sounded great with no imperfections on my received copy.
Overall I have to give four stars and deduct one star for the lackluster remixes (and I'm a remix guy/lover so they normally don't take away from the overall score for me). Enjoy!! -
UO exclusives are always great, but the packaging always sucks. This comes in a clear PVC as do many picture discs. It is split on 2 of the 3 seams at the center due to poor packaging. Returning for a replacement is useless because it will be sent again just the same way as the original. Shame!

Edited 4 years agoTechnically the 1966 original was promoted as a Frankie Valli solo single and album, though it was written and produced by long-time Four Seasons collaborators & producers Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio.
In 1991 The Pet Shop Boys did a medley of U2's "Where The Streets Have No Name" and Valli's "I Can't Take My Eyes Off You" based on an arrangement of the Boystown Gang's 1982 disco hit.
PSB's medley was a top 10 international hit, except in the US where it was only a club hit (dance #4; pop #72).
