Edited 4 years agoTechnically the 1966 original was promoted as a Frankie Valli solo single and album, though it was written and produced by long-time Four Seasons collaborators & producers Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio.
In 1991 The Pet Shop Boys did a medley of U2's "Where The Streets Have No Name" and Valli's "I Can't Take My Eyes Off You" based on an arrangement of the Boystown Gang's 1982 disco hit.
PSB's medley was a top 10 international hit, except in the US where it was only a club hit (dance #4; pop #72).
