Edited one month agogreat album, unfortunately my copy is offcenter, warped and has a bunch rotational clicks in a bunch of places

At the time of this writing, I am 36 records into my Chet Baker collection. And this is by far my favourite of his music. Some strange things going on with my copy of this pressing. The final song on Side A would skip. At first, the skip would be inconsistent, then became a permanent thing. I tried wet-cleaning the record and did not solve the problem. There were zero visual flaws. After combing through the comments on Discogs, other pressings for this album show occurrences of skipping on the final songs on Side A and Side B. Side A for some, Side B for some, one comment even citing the skip eventually going away. I recently switched out my stylus from the Orotofon 2M red to the 2M blue, and the skip went away. Quite the mystery. -
Have to agree with the other replies, fantastic sounding release, really shocked at the quality of the recording, very well done.

Excellent playing and sound quality. "Please enter at least 5 more." -

Same problem here. VERY LOUD pops and crackles. The same skip at end of B side that there refers to happens to me. Such a pity Steeplechase won't take more care with their pressings.

This, in my opinion, is Chet Baker's best album of the 1980s (technically it was recorded in November 1979). Mr. B and Cool Cat are pretty close but since this has one of my all time favorite pianists, Duke Jordan, this one edges past the others.
As far as the pressing goes, I have no complaints. Great sound, no pops or clicks. Recommended.
Weird note: when comparing this release's cover against my old, beat up 1983 version, it appears that Chet's hair has been photoshopped! Looking at all the covers here on discogs, it appears it was first changed for a 1989 CD release. -
Wonderful press, quiet, immaculate Japanese vinyl. Excellent sound stage and detailed instruments. My recommendation for this records👍

This thing is beautiful and sounds even better. This is one of those albums you enjoy rest of your life. -

A superb album, excellent sound, perfect pressing. Baker made a series of outstanding albums for SteepleChase during that time, this is one of them. Luckily I bought it, when it was still affordable.
