Rush – Presto

My main complain is that it sounds "thin", you really have to raise the volume up a lot...
I wonder if spreading it into two vinyl would have helped.

There Is too much music on this LP for just one album needs to be a double LP.

Finally getting this album at a normal price makes me so happy! I only had the cassette long ago and it's been years since I've heard it, so I can't compare quality to original pressings. However, my copy had only a little surface noise on side one on a couple songs. Nothing as bad as others are reporting. I clean all my records and run a microfiber brush before playing. I gave this 4 stars because it should have been a double LP. Side one has too much music on it and therefore is much quieter (check the notes about this on the inner sleeve). Also, no poly sleeve in 2025 is criminal. As I said, super happy to have this record finally, but those few issues keep this from being 5 stars for me.

Music is a 5 star, Pressing is a 3. Side 1 has all kinds of consistent pops. Side 2 is a lot better. Much quieter and better sound stage. All I can say is why can’t all records be pressed at QRP?

Side one is drastically lower in volume than side two. They even put a note on the back of the inner sleeve regarding this and suggest you turn up side one. I agree, this mix sounds fairly thin.

Mine is not noisy, but it is thin sounding, just like the original pressing. The original is more open 3D sounding, though, not by much, but a little more spacious - like OG almost always does. This record original or reissue, is too long. It should have been a 2LP set.

I'm very interested in how does this sound? Can't wait.

I don't know if 'Replies' notifications are working here now, but yeah, I had the original and compared it to this one. The original on my system was a bit bright and harsh sounding, and this remaster had toned that down some so I found it much more listenable. I hope that helps! Keep in mind too that the SYEOR Rhino releases in January supposedly include this album. I don't know if it is the same mastering or what, but I believe it is only $25.

Can anyone shed light on how this reissue sounds vs. the original US Masterdisk?
