The notes say this is a "budget reissue" of the original release, but its on 134g vinyl and has a printed/color sleeve. I bought mine new in the early 1980s and it still sounds fresh. -
The Romantics' debut album sounds like it's straight out of 1966, a glorious collection of catchy, well-crafted songs influenced by garage rock and first wave British Invasion bands, namely the Kinks (whose "She's Got Everything is covered superbly here). "What I Like About You" is the most well known tune, but there are quite a few gems, including "When I Look In Your Eyes", "Tell It To Carrie", and "Little White Lies". This pressing is fine, with a live-in-the-studio vibe, some raucous sounding drums, and perhaps a bit lacking in the bass department. My copy plays through nice and clean, with a couple of faint tics on "What I Like About You". -
If it wasn't for "What I like about You" I probably would have never bought this. The music is so repetitive that I can't listen to the whole thing. My copy is a good VG+ but noisy between tracks after cleaning twice
