How is this record selling for $5? The first song alone tells you you’ve gotten your moneys worth. If you like dance music (of course you do you’re already looking at this album) just buy this seminal work now.

Why is (almost) everyone saying...'Nonstop mix'... 'First of its kind'
        It AINT a mix
        It AINT non-stop
True, side one has a rapid track change.. but there are definite STOPS at the end of each track... and so ... where is the mix?.

Regarding the audio being louder on right channel of CD presses, this version also has the same issue.

What is wrong with this? It sounds like there's some weird phasing issue on all the tracks. Misaligned tape head? Or just a mastering engineer who doesn't know what he's doing?

What a mess! Utterly loud remastering, wildly unbalanced stereo spectrum, as the right channel output sounds much louder than the left one. Pity this happened to the re-release of such a seminal disco staple. Packaging is OK, bonus tracks are a real treat but Gloria's voice and talent should deserve more care and dedication than this. BBR did a better job with the remastering of Donna Summer's soundtrack "The Deep", a few years later.

You don't have to love Disco to adore this album (but it helps, LOL!).

This album just shines with joy and effervescence! If you know any of the lyrics you will likely end up singing along whether you intend to or not. If you don't know any of the lyrics, you will by the end of the album... any song on the album is a potential ear-worm, but in a good way. These songs will make you smile and (depending on your proclivities) dance.

Side one is fantastic, with all three of the tracks becoming hit singles in their own right. I won't reiterate everything others have said, but suffice it to say that the non-stop track that comprises the whole of the side is infectious. Aside from being the first album to be created as a single non-stop mix, it is also one of the best.

Side one is where to go if you are looking for high energy, but side two, though not as much of a powerhouse as side one, is also a nice collection of solid uptempo songs. Others have mentioned that "Real Good People" is a still a crowd pleaser well into the 21st century, but it is the sheer goofiness of "False Alarm" that makes me smile.

The joyful duet of "We Belong Together" is another strong song that will have you moving. My favourite track on side 2, however, is "All I Need Is Your Good Loving", which I have always had a soft spot for. That leaves only one song that, though not a bad song by any means, is neither here not there... which makes for a pretty damn solid album in my opinion.

This is the perfect companion for a "throwback" party, or just for a wonderful night in with friends... or a solo mission in the kitchen with the dishes.

Two seriously strong DJ tracks on this album even 40 years later. "Real Good People" is a legit dance floor bomb body mover that I believe is a Loft (NYC) classic and the cover of "Reach Out, I'll Be There" is fun material as well that is sure to get a response from a crowd.

Most other tracks seem to have a bit of a Motown vibe, but as if transported into the mid-70s disco era. "Searching," "We Belong," and the cover of "All I Need Is Your Sweet Lovin'" all work pretty well in this regard. "Never Can Say Goodbye" and is the one I'd least likely play out, unless you're in playing at a particular type of party.

An absolutely groundbreaking album. Not only because of Gloria's voice, her full orchestra backup or all tunes on one side of a record to become hit singles, but also from something behind the scenes:

                      "A Tom Moulton Mix".

For the first time, songs were not presented as separate pieces of music, but as an uninterrupted, 18-minute-plus, side-long composition optimised for dancing. There were other albums that had side-long tracks (Tubular bells, In-a-gadda-da-vida), but here, we have a new piece of music composed out of already recorded pieces of music, making it the very first "DJ mix".
It is interesting to note that the order of the tracks was chosen to add feel, power and energy during the composition. Later on, this technique would be refined by measuring the "beats per minute", and DJs started to create similar uninterrupted compositions of disco tunes by "beatmixing" them into each other.

Smoothly produced, discolike tracks are rather a dime a dozen although more inspired than the bulk of the German Hansa disco factory at the end of the seventies. The more unpolished "Real Good People" (3:02) stays a refreshingly strong track.
