Edited 3 years agoIf you prefer your Bill Evans without the trio, this one's for you. A couple years after the seminal duo release with Tony Bennett, here Evans reprises "The Touch Of Your Lips" with some of the same jauntiness and thrilling harmony of the former record. Then, he gives Brubeck a run for his money with a simply brilliant telling of "In Your Own Sweet Way". Shh, we won't tell.
The recording sounds beautiful. It is recorded in STEREO, even though there's only one instrument. The piano sounds huge and very natural. Dynamics are excellent.
There is so much to love about this record. Grab it if you can.

Not the most moving LP from Bill but still has his magic hands up and down the keys with some amazing work on tunes like In your own sweet way and People.
