"Where Ironcrosses Grow" is the canonical incarnation of Dismember. On the one hand, the album has a fairly typical form of musical presentation, and on the other hand... what else can you expect from the band? This album was released at a time when Dismember no longer had to prove anything to anyone. The band is rushing like a tank, with skulls bursting and skeletons cracking under its tracks. An attacking wall of extremely overloaded sound, intense instrumental parts with furious vocals and a series of melodic solos. Who knows, if Iron Maiden had ever decided to play Death Metal, maybe they would have sounded very close to how Dismember sounds on this album =) Otherwise, this recording is very unobtrusive, the solo ports make a very appropriate variety, thanks to which the songs can be clearly distinguished from each other. The sound is heavy, but the energy is light.

The recent reissue turned out to be cool. In of sound, it is quite powerful. The original recording was quite specific, so transferring this musical meat grinder to vinyl is a non-trivial task. Guitars and bass are accentuated in the mix, while drums and vocals are slightly pushed back. Even the solo parts sometimes drown in this guitar mess. This is such an album, with its own special vibe. Vinyl is played without problems, the mass is quiet, the press is certainly of high quality.

In of design - cover by D. Seagrave in 12' format is just a piece of art. The image has a good resolution, although it could have been better for so many small details. So far, this is the best cover art in the discography. Of course, it would be cool to add a poster to the edition... But in this case, there is only a fairly ordinary insert with one photo and lyrics. The vinyls color scheme perfectly matches the cover, this variant is the best of the three proposed. This is a good press, for those who are able to appreciate it.
