Blood Incantation – Absolute Elsewhere

I'm not a big fan of Death Metal because I find the growling laughable. However, the guttural vocals work here because the music ing them is technically stellar, and more importantly, they come and go quickly, creating superb dynamics between explosive power, cold isolation, and spiritual transcendence. This is space rock taken to the next level. Refined, evolutionary, dynamic, challenging, and perfectly executed. An amazing feat like nothing I've heard. This is not just a gimmick that melds Death Metal, Pink Floyd, and ambient music. While the influences are palpable they're not simply emulated, but wielded like weapons. Extensions of the performers. These fuckers swing for the fences and connect. The red translucent pressing and GZ mastering had me a bit worried, but there are zero issues with my copy. It's quiet, dynamic, and loud.

Great album, great pressing. Kinda home they put out a cassette version so's I can take a physical copy around with me and listen to it even more!

Love this album. Music is excellent. The sound quality and mix is super dynamic. My only small qualm is I wish the drums were more forward in the mix.

An incredible pressing for the style of music it is. Not surprised. Even in the cacophony of sound, you can pick it all out.

Nice pressing with little to no surface noise, which is great for a band like this that has a lot of dynamic range. The album is well packaged, the vinyl comes in a polylined sleeve along with a poster of the band and a lyric insert. Imo, One of the best albums of 2024.

Clear, up-front sound staging. Excellent sound, overall. The gatefold artwork is excellently rendered. Definitely recommended

My copy has just a bit of clicking as side A begins to fade out, but otherwise it sounds flawless.

This record is bound to offend many: "not metal" enough to the hard core death metal guys ("too much synth"), and too heavy for the fan of ambient/psych/prog ("too much cookie monster vocals"). I will live in the middle ground and enjoy this weird amalgamation of two seemingly unrelated styles. Blood Incantation has its own sound, but definitely pays homage to their (obvious) influences.

Mine skips a couple of time in the first five minutes of the record :( but other than that perfect audio

This pressing is flawless. DEAD silent and extremely dynamic. I honestly couldn't be any happier with this. My first run-through of this album and I'm pretty dang speechless, so I shall return here and give more specified thoughts on the pressing after I can gather myself, lmao. Sounds so damn good though... GO OUT AND BUY THIS. JUST DO IT.
